This is a blog about creating our family. First Autumn, now Gavin. In some ways, it will also be about the world we've brought them into.

The inevitable question about zombies
Image via WikipediaThis morning Autumn asked me what Zombies eat.
The correct answer is brains. Everyone knows Zombies prefer brains, but they'll eat the rest of you as an appetizer.
But for a 4-year old who is scared of monsters, the actual answer is there are no real zombies.
Each summer, Buffalo has a zombie walk. A whole bunch of people, old and young, dress up like zombies. I honestly don't know why, but I plan to find out.
Anyway, we were riding bikes when we saw some of them walking in to get pizza. Keep in mind, this was June.
So, when I tell Autumn that zombies aren't real, she recognizes that I haven't answered the question.
"But dad, do they eat Zombie Pizza?"
Autumn remembered the Zombies from the summer. Remembered that they were going for pizza. Connect the dots and came to her own conclusions.

I call him chuckles
I call him chuckles. And he responds. Not sure why. I just started calling him chuckles. Never chuck.
But if you say, "is your name chuckles?", he nods.
Gavin being funny
It was late on a car ride home. Autumn was asleep, and Gavin was delirious. I actually got about 20 minutes of this. These might be the best parts.
