Happy St .Patrick's Day

This is a gift from Julie. It's a little big for the little guy, but he's rockin' it anyway.


It's not as easy as it looks. Especially for an old guy like me at 7:00AM, before the coffee has really kicked in.


Then of course, Autumn had to get in the picture. She loves to get her picture taken.

Some shots my wife took. At some point, things like this will be for sale.

So last night, just before reading books with Autumn, she stopped, turned to me and said, "Pull my finger".

I said pardon?

"Pull my finger" she said, sicking out her finger and laughing.

I didn't teach her this. At the time, I had no idea who tought her this. But, as I'm leanring, you have to go with your kids sometimes down roads that seem pretty weird. For instance, in bed the other night, she turned to me and asked:

"Can I cry?"

There's no good answer to this question. I couldn't say no, because that would make her sad, meaning she would cry. If i say yes, I'm basically giving her permission to cry.

So I asked her why she wanted to cry.

"So you'll come back in" she replied, as if it was obvious.

So I went with it. I told her she could cry, she did, I came back in, and she shut up and went to sleep.

Knowing all I know about going with it, I pulled her finger.

She smirked, batted her eyelashes, and made a cute little fart sound with her lips. Then she giggled like a two-year old.

Things are getting fun.

Five things Autumn loves

In no particular order:

1. Gavin. Can I touch him, can I kiss him, can I hug him. Picture that sentence without the h sound though (she has a problem with h, so it sounds more like 'im.)

2. Airplanes. If we're walking along the street and we hear an airplane, we stop and look. If you ask Autumn where an airplane is going, she says airport every time.

3. Playground. What kid doesn't love playgrounds?

4. Broccoli. Ask us what her favorite food is, and we'll say without hesitation, blueberries. Ask them at DayCare and they say Broccoli.

5. Fire Engines. She loves them. And this is really the reason for this post. to show off some of these.





Yes, it was a daycare outing to a firehouse. Autumn got to the play with the hose, get in the fire truck, and hang out with firemen. A good time was had by all.

Autumn's birthday presents

We got her two things that she loves. The first is because the kids next door all have scooters. Autumn is always saying, "I want to ride scooter."

So, we got her a little starter scooter. With a helmet.


The second is girlie. She loves dresses, and princesses, and wearing dresses and looking pretty. So we got her a little dress up dress. In it, she can look like a princess.

"I'm soooo pretty." She says. See for yourself.

Mom's day, grad weekend

This weekend was all about mom. First, mom got hooded, and grabbed her master's degree from Buffalo State university. She is, and forever will be, a master. We celebrated with dinner at her favorite restaurant where she got her favorite meal


Second, it was mom's day. Dad (that's me), fired up a brunch of epic proportions, as nanny and granddad were here for the previous day's master's ceremony and dinner. It was a great week.

So give mom a hearty congrats. She's a master mom.

No Binky Outside

Autumn says some really fun things. She sings, she chats, she laughs, she says to mommy: "Mommy, I love you". This morning, I said to her: what do you say to Lucy, she turned to Lucy and said: "Lucy, I love you".

But the thing she's been saying a lot is "no binky outside". We're at the point where it's time to wean her off the binky. So daddy made a rule.

No Binky Outside.

Now, when we're going for a walk, as she gets to the door, she'll hand me the binky. It doesn't work perfectly. Mom reports that she'll say no binky outside, and then later, while outside, whine for the binky.

But it's a start. We'll keep you posted.

Thanks Aunt Christina

This past weekend, aunt Christina (Autumn calls her aunt nina) spent the weekend at our house helping us peel wallpaper (never done that before), paint the little fellas room, and clean.

A good spring cleaning.

I'm thankful for her help. We could never have gotten what we got accomplished without her.

So thanks. We owe you more Cold Stone.

Watching planes

This morning, while Aunt Christina and Mom cleaned up the place (it looks awesome by the way), I took Autumn to the Airport to watch planes.

When we take a walk around the block, or anywhere, and she hears a plane in the sky, she stops and yells 'plane' and looks up. I figured, it would be a natural to head ot the B'lo airport and catch a few taking off.

This is us, all serious, getting ready to look at planes. We're right at the end of the runway, looking through a fence.

And while that might not seem close, keep in mind, Autumn saw it the whole way on the run way.

Missing Autumn

The last time I saw Autumn was Tuesday night. I left yesterday morning at the silly time of 5:30AM to go to Syracuse NY for work. It's 2.5 hour drive. Then, I drove back this morning and went to work. I went home for lunch, so I saw Rhona, who i also missed.

Anyway, I can't wait to see her.
